To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if she will meet with representatives of Heathrow Airport to discuss the potential inclusion of Heathrow Logistics Hubs as part of its expansion plans.
The government supports airport expansion and has invited proposals for a third runway at Heathrow and expects proposals to be brought forward by the summer.
The specific details of the proposals for a third runway are a matter for the promoters to consider but government has been clear that any airport expansion proposals need to demonstrate that they contribute to economic growth and meet strict environmental requirements on air quality and noise pollution.
That this House notes the Heathrow Logistics Hubs process reaches the shortlisting site stage at the end of March 2019, when fewer than 20 locations will be chosen and invited to enter a formal tendering process, with the final four sites across the UK selected in early 2020; and acknowledges the expectation that in each area that is ultimately successful, thousands of jobs will be created helping to deliver employment sustainability right across the United Kingdom helping deliver economic prosperity to areas with lower economic activity.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if he will make an estimate of the number of private sector jobs that would be created in Northern Ireland as a result of a successful bid from Northern Ireland under the Heathrow Logistics Hub bidding process.

The Government welcomes Heathrow's logistics hubs initiative, for which a number of sites in Northern Ireland have been longlisted as potential locations.
The number of jobs created at any particular hub will be a question for Heathrow, subject to its ongoing procurement exercise. Heathrow plans to announce a shortlist of locations in the spring before selecting four final locations later this year.
In the meantime, Hon Members may wish to engage directly with the promoters of the potential logistics hubs sites in Northern Ireland to explore their proposals further.
The Heathrow logistics hub process is coming to a conclusion, and there are a number of bids from Northern
Ireland, including one from my constituency. Without prejudicing the outcome, will the Minister ensure that he co-operates closely to ensure that there are regional variations to benefit thousands of jobs in Northern Ireland?

I have already told Heathrow airport that, while the detail of the decisions is a matter for them, I would certainly want to see a proper spread across all parts of the United Kingdom.
