We are following closely developments in Malaysia on the use by Christians of the word of ‘Allah’, including the seizure of Malay language bibles by the religious authorities in the state of Selangor on 2 January. We have raised our concerns with Malaysian Ministers.

We regularly underline our support for respecting human rights, including freedom of religion, in our contacts with the Malaysian Government. Our high commissioner in Kuala Lumpur has raised the issue with Malaysian Ministers.
