That this House calls on Her Majesty's Government to address animal welfare concerns within greyhound racing; notes that 10,000 greyhounds retire from racing each year, only 2,000 of which are known to be re-homed; looks forward to provisions for improving racing greyhound welfare to be included in the proposed Animal Welfare Bill; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to bring forward measures, including the possible introduction of compulsory levies, to ensure that proper levels of funding are made available from within the industry towards the cost of greyhound welfare.
