That this House notes with deep concern the damaging implications of the Equality Act 2010; highlights that equality under the law already existed prior to 2010; recognises the Equality Act 2010 as an imposition of constitutional codification over traditional common law protections; acknowledges that racial discrimination cases have tripled between 2017 to 2024 under the Equality Act 1010, with only 5% being upheld, and that there have been over 200,000 employment tribunal cases since 2017 causing unnecessary costs to businesses; further notes that Public Sector Equality Duty undermines harmonious workplace relationships; also notes that provisions in the Act for positive action inherently contradicts supposedly anti-discriminatory measures of Section 13(5) of the Equality Act 2010 itself; and urges that the Equality Act 2010 be immediately reviewed, and eventually repealed.

The Government committed in the 2018 Government Estates Strategy to locate more Civil Service roles out of London and into the regions and nations of the United Kingdom. To deliver on this commitment, the Cabinet Office is co-ordinating activity under the Places for Growth programme. This programme will take a place-based approach to relocating roles that ensures we have the skills and capacity in the right places to enable organisations and cities to flourish.
Where roles are demonstrated to require a London presence, often there is no need for a central London location. Therefore, we have committed to three Hubs in outer London – Croydon, Stratford and Canary Wharf – to provide great places to work for these Civil Servants. Potential outer London locations are not limited to these hubs, though no further decisions have been made at this stage.

DFID‘s work in Iraq is focused on supporting the Government of Iraq-led, UN-supported humanitarian and stabilisation response to the current crisis, and DFID funding is channelled through UN agencies and non-governmental organisations. DFID is not directly funding programmes supporting joint working between the UK and Iraqi public sectors.
The British Council is working with the Iraqi health, heritage and education sectors to foster collaboration with UK institutions. Through the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) the UK is also working with the Government of Iraq to train and mentor the Iraqi Government Digital Service to support online communications in the campaign against Daesh.
