Nothing is more important than ensuring people are safe in their homes. Residents’ voices need to be heard to ensure proper standards are maintained and that where things are going wrong they are picked up and addressed. We want to ensure that there is a coherent and consistent approach to regulation to deliver these objectives, and achieve the best deal for tenants and landlords. Our review of social housing regulation is exploring the most appropriate way of doing so, and we will publish the results of that review in due course.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what recent assessment she has made of the adequacy of provision in primary schools of teaching for children on how to stay safe online.
The new computing curriculum, introduced from September 2014, introduces pupils to aspects of cyber security from an early age. The curriculum introduces e-safety from Key Stage 1, reflecting the fact that children are increasingly accessing the internet from a young age. All maintained primary schools must follow this curriculum, and academies and free schools can use it as a benchmark.
The ‘Keeping children safe in education’ statutory guidance for schools sets out that governing bodies and proprietors should ensure children are taught about safeguarding, including online. In addition, schools are encouraged to make provision for personal social, health and economic education (PSHE) as part of their wider curriculum. High quality PSHE teaching has a vital role in preparing children for adulthood, including safe and respectful use of online technology.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether she plans to respond to the Children's Commissioner's report, Protecting Children from Harm, published in November 2015.
The report captures the findings from the first part of the Children’s Commissioner’s inquiry into child sexual abuse in the family environment. The Government will give careful consideration to the findings of the full inquiry when it is completed in December 2016.
Tackling child abuse is a priority for this Government. This Government has set up the first ever cross-government Ministerial Child Protection Taskforce to overhaul the way police, schools, social services and others work together in tackling this abhorrent crime. The taskforce’s work will build on the Government’s wide-ranging reforms to create a care system that puts children’s needs first. This includes the appointment of a Chief Social Worker to champion reform in the profession, a £400 million investment in social work training, and cuts to bureaucracy to free up social workers to do what they do best.
We have also invested an extra £100m to support vulnerable children and we areproviding £7m for services supporting survivors of child abuse.
The Government is committed to driving forward fundamental reforms to protect the most vulnerable children in our society and give them the opportunity to succeed.
