That this House welcomes to Parliament the families of the three Israeli servicemen, Benjamin Avraham 21, Adi Avital 22 and Omar Sawaid 27 and father of two, together with the family of abducted businessman Elhanan Tanenbaum 54 and father of two; notes that they were kidnapped from the Israeli side of the UN-recognised Israeli-Lebanon border while Mr Tanenbaum was snatched while working in Switzerland in October 2000; deeply sympathises with the awful pain and torment for these suffering families who have been denied any information on the welfare of their loved ones or even if they are still alive seven months after being abducted; further notes that the three Israeli servicemen were abducted by Hizbullah disguised as UN personnel using vehicles carrying the UNIFIL insignia; appeals to their captors that harming these men cannot do their cause any good whatsoever and rather that their release would be an act of bravery; asks their captors in the meantime to allow the International Red Cross to visit these hostages to assess their condition; and asks Her Majesty's Government to make urgent representations to the governments of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iran to do all they can to return these innocent men to their families as a gesture of humanity to end the torment of their loved ones.
