We estimate that a total of £489 million will be paid to farmers under the Rural Development Programme for England in 2012-13. This consists of £118 million of DEFRA funding, matched with £371 million of EU funding. This estimate is based on the proportion of beneficiaries that are farmers and applying that to the current forecast of spend for 2012-13.
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what matched funding for Rural Development Fund payments to farmers in England his Department has provided in each of the last three years.
