As and when matters come to the attention of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) they are assessed in the context of the SFO's remit to investigate fraud, bribery and corruption. If appropriate, relevant matters will be considered for criminal investigation in line with SFO internal procedures.

Individual enforcement decisions are a matter for the Financial Services Authority (FSA), not the Government. It would not be appropriate to comment on any individual ongoing cases at this time.
The FSA's report into HBOS is expected to be published in summer 2013. This will contain further details of the HBOS investigation.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has committed to produce a public interest report into the causes of the failure of HBOS (similar to the report it published on RBS). The report is expected to be published in the summer of 2013.
In order to do this, the FSA has had to complete all the enforcement investigations in order not to prejudice the outcome of ongoing enforcement action.
