The Electoral Commission did not spend any money on Facebook targeted advertisements for National Voter Registration Day.
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what representations he has made to Facebook about online abuse of people with autism.
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what representations he has made to Facebook about online abuse of people with autism.
DCMS has not made any representations to Facebook about online abuse of people with autism. However, the Government is working closely with social media companies, including Facebook, to improve reporting mechanisms so that online abuse in any form can be addressed quickly, with accounts being closed as necessary.

Neither the Secretary of State nor I have sought specific legal advice on the recent research carried out by Facebook. In the first instance, I believe it is a matter for the Information Commissioner's Office to determine whether UK data protection laws have been breached.
Neither have we made any estimate of the number of UK citizens that may have been subject to the research recently published by Facebook, nor had discussions with Facebook or the US administration about this. I have received a briefing paper from Facebook regarding this research, ahead of giving evidence to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee inquiry on social media data.
