We remain deeply concerned by Iran’s ongoing support to the military wing of Hizballah including the provision of financial resources, military equipment and training. This support undermines prospects for peace and stability in the Middle East and contravenes UN Security Council Resolution 1747, which prohibits the export of weapons by Iran.

As part of our talks with Iran on its nuclear programme, will there be a specific condition on Iran to stop sponsoring and harbouring terrorism, whether that is supporting the Houthis in Yemen, interfering in Syria, interfering in Iraq with its militias against the Sunnis, or supporting Hezbollah, to ensure that we have a long-term solution, not a short-term fix?

Discussions around a nuclear solution are separate to those other matters, but my hon. Friend is right to raise the issue. Iran is having a destabilising effect in the region, and that is a violation of UN resolution 1747 which makes illegal the export of weapon systems and armaments from Iran.

We continue to have serious concerns about Iran's support for the military wing of Hizballah. This support includes the provision of significant financial resources, military equipment and training, in contravention of UN Security Council Resolution 1747, which prohibits the export of weapons by Iran. We call on Iran to implement its obligations under this resolution and end its military support which undermines regional security.

The United Nations has called for countries throughout the world to resettle at least 130,000 of those refugees. Why have only 90 been allowed into the United Kingdom?

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what reports he has received of a recent bomb attack by Hezbollah against Israeli soldiers on the Lebanon border with Israel.
We are aware of reports of an explosive device detonated in the Shebaa Hills area of Israel on 7 October, which injured two Israeli soldiers. Hizballah has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Israel Defense Forces responded with artillery fire into Lebanon. We call on all sides to cease hostilities and honour United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
