The Government works with the police to ensure the safety and security of all communities. Following recent attacks against individuals and Jewish community sites in Europe, there have been considerable efforts from the police, working with the community, to mitigate threats to Jewish interests in the UK.
On 18 March the Prime Minister announced an additional £10.9 million of funding for protective security measures to further ensure the safety and security of the Jewish community, including at synagogues, Jewish schools and community sites. This was part of £23.9 million provided in the budget for 2015-16 for counter-terrorism and protective security measures.
Ensuring that there is effective security at crowded places and potentially vulnerable sites remains a key priority for Government. We provide considerable advice and guidance to mosques, madrassahs and other Islamic centres. Monitoring of the security situation remains under constant review.

The police have increased their operational response to possible threats to the British Jews and Muslims following recent attacks in Europe, and arrangements to ensure the safety and security of citizens from all backgrounds remain under regular review.

The governing body of a mosque or other building where the Muslim faith is practised may apply to have that building certified as a place of religious worship under the Places of Worship Registration Act 1855. Following this, the building can then be registered for the solemnization of marriages under the Marriage Act 1949.
There are 258 such buildings registered.

Everyone has the right to feel safe in the place where they worship, free from discrimination and prejudice and we utterly condemn the recent intrusions of Britain First in Bradford and the fear and intimidation this has created among residents. In our country people of all religions must be able to worship without fear of harassment or interruption.
The Secretary for State for Communities and Local Government (the Rt Hon Eric Pickles) has met with representatives of the Bradford Council of Mosques to encourage them to develop guidance for all mosques on what they should do in case of a repeat of the incidents in Bradford. Freedom of worship is a fundamental and hard-fought British liberty that should be defended and we will continue to work with faith organisations and the Council of Mosques to take the right security precautions and ensure that people in Bradford and elsewhere feel safe.
Injunctions would be taken out by the individual Mosques involved, not by Government. We are unaware of any plans to take out injunctions in this case.
