Level Crossing safety is a matter for Network Rail, as the primary duty-holder for Britain’s railway infrastructure.
Network Rail have assessed Fisherman’s Path rail crossing in Formby and have implemented a number of safety improvements in the last year, including the repositioning of the vehicle and pedestrian gates, the resurfacing of the foot crossing, the introduction of clearer markings on the approach roads, and the installation of new fencing.
Network Rail are continuing to collect data on the use of this crossing, and will continue to assess the level of risk over time.
