To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, for what reasons NHS England has ceased printing and distributing hard copies of the How to register with a doctor leaflets for asylum seekers and refugees.
NHS England is currently reviewing the information provided to patients. The “How to register with a doctor” leaflets remain available online and can be printed as necessary from the following link:
The process of registering with, and gaining access to, primary medical care services is the same for all patients, whether they are gypsies, travellers, homeless or vulnerable migrants. People do not need to provide proof of address to register with a general practitioner (GP).
The free NHS 111 service can assist anyone who has faced difficulty finding a GP or accessing other services in their local area.
To ask Her Majesty's Government what information leaflets they publish about female genital mutilation; and whether any of these are in an easy read format for people with limited literacy.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a crime and it is child abuse. The Government is clear that we will not tolerate a practice that can cause extreme and lifelong suffering to women and girls.
The Home Office’s FGM unit is driving a step change in our nationwide out-reach on FGM. The Unit is providing outreach support to local areas and working to raise awareness of resources available to professionals, including training, best practice examples and information on legislation and policy. Resources include an e-learning package, various communication materials such as leaflets and posters highlighting the legislation and health impacts of FGM and an online resource pack for local areas. These materials are available at:

The FGM communications campaign and materials were developed following consultation with the FGM sector and the need for easy read materials was not raised during this consultation. These materials are not available in Easy Read format but have been drafted to be accessible to those with a basic understanding of English.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what guidance his Department provides to NHS Trusts on the provision of private healthcare leaflets in NHS hospitals advertising medical services.
We have provided no such guidance.
NHS England has issued general guidance to National Health Service organisations on the sale of advertising space to generate additional income. The guidance is clear that third party advertisements should not suggest that the NHS endorses or recommends the advertiser’s goods or services. It can be found at the following web address:

The Home Office produced a leaflet to raise awareness about immigration options for victims of modern slavery in September 2017.
The leaflet is currently available in English at the link below on the Government’s website.

Key stakeholders including Border Force, UK Visas and Immigration, the National Crime Agency, and the Salvation Army have been made aware of the leaflet and encouraged to share copies with victims where appropriate.
Stakeholders will currently print the leaflet from Gov.UK or share a link to the leaflet as needed and as such the Home Office has no central records of how many leaflets have been distributed.
