The contract with Faculty was awarded following a robust selection process through the Crown Commercial Serviceâs G-Cloud Digital Marketplace in line with its published processes, further details of which can be found at: www.gov.uk/guidance/g-cloud-buyers-guide.
The company has been awarded a call-off contract for the provision of data science services, more specifically helping the Department to analyse data in real time allowing it to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on local communities and respond to emerging issues at pace. In line with the legal obligations under the Framework Agreement, Faculty must stop using any data they have been granted access to as part of this contract when the contract expires.

The Department and NHS England and NHS Improvement are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation, and always undertake an appropriate Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) for all new products, systems and processing activities.
The DPIA would identify the requirement for any data processing or data sharing agreement, and they would be put in place accordingly.

The approval of the contract awarded to Faculty was completed in line with the Departmentâs scheme of Delegated Authority.
The contract was awarded following a robust selection process through the Crown Commercial Serviceâs G-Cloud Digital Marketplace in line with its published processes, further details of which can be found (attached) at www.gov.uk/guidance/g-cloud-buyers-guide.
Facultyâs G-Cloud service offered the best fit with the Departmentâs identified needs. Facultyâs pricing of this service offer was reviewed against alternative suppliersâ prices and was found to be comparable.
The contract is based on the time and materials used to undertake the required services.

Palantir Technology UK is engaged by NHS England under contract as a data processor. As a data processor, the organisation does have access to the data but can only process it under instruction from NHS England. As such, a data sharing agreement is not required. The Data Protection Impact Assessment for the NHS Data Store is being published by NHS England in due course. |
