We have tested other licensed therapeutics, where available from companies, against Omicron BA.1. While the data has been provided to Department, it is covered by confidential disclosure agreements with the relevant companies. We are currently completing testing against Omicron BA.2.

Patients at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19 and who are potentially eligible for treatments continue to have access to free lateral flow device tests. This treatment cohort is outlined in the United Kingdom-wide clinical access policy for non-hospitalised individuals at highest risk from COVID-19, which is available at the following link:

The UK condemns the DPRK's escalation of ballistic missile testing, all in violation of UN Security Council resolutions. We strongly encourage the DPRK to change course and to abandon its illegal nuclear and ballistic missile programmes in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner. As the Foreign Secretary and G7 counterparts made clear in March, we call on the DPRK to accept the repeated offers of unconditional dialogue put forward by all relevant parties. The UN Security Council meeting on 25 March, convened by the UK, US and like-minded countries, was the first open session on DPRK since December 2019. We are clear that until the DPRK returns to dialogue, all countries must fully implement UNSC Resolutions, including the enforcement of sanctions agreed by the UNSC to curtail the DPRK's prohibited programmes. We remain committed to securing peace on the Korean peninsula, working closely with allies and partners in upholding the rules-based international system and securing an end to DPRK's illegal activities.

The Department’s Antivirals and Therapeutics Taskforce is scoping the potential for pre-exposure prophylaxis, alongside experts from the Prophylaxis Oversight Group, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the multi-agency group RAPID C-19. As part of this evaluation, treatments must demonstrate sufficient efficacy against Omicron and new variants to avoid escape mutations. Therefore, the UKHSA is undertaking further testing on Evusheld’s effectiveness against the Omicron variant. The timing of these results is dependent on the success of the testing assays, therefore we are currently unable to confirm when these results may be published.

Following decontamination, Gruinard Island was declared safe by an independent advisory group prior to public confirmation in 1990. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) subsequently sold the island back to the estate of the original owner following the island being declared safe by an Advisory group established by the then MOD Chief Scientific Advisor.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is working with the Department for Transport (DfT) to ensure the current tail pipe emissions test for diesel vehicles, that forms part of the current light vehicle MOT, is fit for purpose.
