That this House notes with concern plans to cull wolves which have colonised the French Alps in recent years; welcomes the actions taken by the French Government to provide subsidies for the employment of extra shepherds, guard dogs and fencing in order to protect farmers from losing livestock and the fact that the numbers of sheep being killed by wolves has fallen since 2002; and calls on the French Government to oppose any culling of alpine wolves which only emigrated from Italy within the last 12 years.
