That this House congratulates the Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) in its work to improve safety and dignity for patients undergoing surgery; thanks Hilda Mears and her family for the legacy bequeathed to the AfPP to help train theatre staff to improve patient safety and to explore why accidents in theatre happen, thereby reducing mishaps; further notes that this legacy will provide funding for education to provide leadership skills and better communication to try and make the experience of going to theatre as good as it can be; and hopes that the President of the AfPP, Diane Gilmour, continues this excellent work to improve the patient experience.
