Lords motion that the Commons message of 6 November be considered and that a Committee of six Lords be appointed to join with the Committee appointed by the Commons to consider and report on the draft Protection of Charities Bill presented to both Houses on 22 October 2014 (Cm 8954) and that the Committee should report on the draft Bill by 28 February 2015; with proposed membership and powers. Resolved, that this House concurs with the Lords Message of 28 October 2014, that it is expedient that a Joint Committee of Lords and Commons be appointed to consider the draft Protection of Charities Bill presented to both Houses on 22 October 2014 (Cm 8954), and that the Committee should report on the draft Bill by 28 February 2015. Ordered, that a Select Committee of six Members be appointed to join with the Committee appointed by the Lords; That the Committee shall have power– (i) to send for persons, papers and records; (ii) to sit notwithstanding any adjournment of the House; (iii) to report from time to time; (iv) to appoint specialist advisers; and (v) to adjourn from place to place within the United Kingdom; That Mr Nick Hurd, Mr Bernard Jenkin, Mrs Emma Lewell-Buck, Mark Menzies, Sarah Teather and Chris Williamson be members of the Committee.
