That this House notes that the honourable Member for Cunninghame North during a speech on Monday 11th March, failed to declare an interest as a director and shareholder of a political socialist newspaper company; further notes that the company had a bespoke factory built by Highlands and Islands Development Board at a cost of ??127,000 and that the company received loans and grants to the value of over ??95,000 from the HIDB and a local enterprise company within the Highlands Enterprise network; and believes that the honourable Member who had made a political career out of attacking other honourable Members with links with companies which have received loans and grants as well as ordinary Scots who have received grants from public bodies, should note the Speaker's comments about his conduct and resign his position as a shadow front-bench spokesman.

That this House applauds the magnificent quality of football from league and non-league clubs alike displayed so far up to the fifth round of the Littlewoods FA Cup Challenge and the benefits and pride enjoyed by communities supporting those clubs; regrets that the direct effect of the now twice weekly National Lottery has been to reduce drastically the income to the Football Trust from around ??37 million pre-Lottery to ??13 million; acknowledges that the Football Trust has had no alternative but to impose a moratorium on grants for safety/stadium improvements and football community development plans; regrets that this is undermining the viability of non-Premiership clubs and undermining their ability to comply with the Football Spectators Act 1989; and calls on the Government to take action to include the Football Trust as an accredited recipient of the Lottery awards.
