That this House recognises Changing Places Toilet Awareness Day 2026 which takes place on 19 July; further recognises the importance of Changing Places toilets for disabled people and their families across the United Kingdom; also recognises that they provide everyone, regardless of their access needs or disability or reliance on the assistance of carers or specialist equipment, with a toilet facility that they can use safely and with dignity; notes the considerable progress made in the provision of Changing Places toilets from the campaign’s launch in 2005, to the provision of the 600th Changing Places toilet in 2016 with over 2,600 Changing Places toilets registered in the UK today; acknowledges that Changing Places Toilets enable anyone to go to the shops, attend hospital appointments, enjoy community life, socialise and travel; further notes the map provided on the Changing Places website advising the location of Changing Places toilets across the UK; welcomes the funding from the Department for Transport which has provided a new Journey Planner feature within the map, with increased functionality for planning travel routes; supports work to develop future digital tools to allow users to easily find up-to-date facilities; highlights that the Changing Places Toilet campaign was initiated by the late Loretto Lambe, PAMIS, to highlight the accessibility struggles for public toilets; and thanks the staff and volunteers at Changing Places toilets for the work they do to ensure everyone has access to safe, comfortable and accessible toilet facilities.
