The Department regularly engages with the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply industry through its trade association Liquid Gas UK. There are several suppliers and Liquid Gas UK provide a postcode search facility to help consumers identify those closest to them (https://www.liquidgasuk.org/domestic/supplier-search). The major suppliers have assured the Department that there will be a sufficient supply of 19kg cylinders across the UK, including Scotland. The industry will also have additional stocks arriving over the coming months to account for increased demand over the winter.

That the House supports tax and Government procurement methods to encourage the move towards more environmentally benign fuel and refrigerants; calls for such measures to be sustained over the long term and concentrate on practical, deliverable solutions rather than blue sky aspirations; would welcome a revision of company car taxation to recognise the environmental advantages of road fuel gases over conventional fuels; and congratulates Calor Gas Ltd on its investment in LPG refuelling infrastructure and on its campaign to highlight the damaging global warming potential of the use of HFCs in refrigeration and air conditioning.
