To ask His Majesty's Government how they intend to ensure effective cross-government delivery of the Freedom from Violence and Abuse Strategy; and what mechanisms are in place to monitor progress towards halving violence against women and girls within a decade.
To ask His Majesty's Government how they intend to ensure effective cross-government delivery of the Freedom from Violence and Abuse Strategy; and what mechanisms are in place to monitor progress towards halving violence against women and girls within a decade.
The Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Strategy sets out a ten-year vision to halve VAWG in a decade.
We are ensuring effective delivery of this through a rigorous cross-government governance structure. Ministers from across government departments meet on a bi-monthly basis to review progress, provide updates on delivery of their commitments as outlined in the action plan and unblock barriers to delivery.
We are measuring our progress through the performance framework, which is outlined in the VAWG Strategy. This includes a package of cross-government metrics that will monitor progress against the overall strategy.

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what steps the Department is taking with the Home Office and Crown Prosecution Service to improve the secure transfer of digital evidence between police, prosecutors and courts and reduce avoidable delays.
Under the Criminal Procedure Rules, parties are required to assist the court in the active management of cases, and prosecutors are responsible for serving prosecution evidence on the court and other parties where the rules require it. This includes ensuring that evidence is provided in a format that can be used effectively by the court. The Department is supporting this through work with criminal justice partners on digital case progression, including through the Police Digital Case File programme, and associated improvements to the presentation of digital evidence in court. These reforms are intended to improve the quality and accessibility of case material, reduce reliance on manual processes and help avoid delays caused by missing, incomplete or unusable evidence.

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, whether she has had discussions with the Chancellor on the adequacy of levels of funding allocated to support women’s sport in Woking.
The Government is committed to ensuring that as many women and girls as possible have access to and benefit from quality sport and physical activity opportunities.
The Government provides the majority of funding for grassroots sport through our Arm’s Length Body, Sport England, whose work includes providing more opportunities for children and young people from all backgrounds to be active.
Sport England supports the work of the local Active Partnership which covers Woking, Active Surrey, who champion physical activity with local leaders to develop interventions tailored to communities. Alongside this, Sport England invested £47,286 into sports-related projects in the constituency of Woking in 2024/25.
In addition, Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign has also inspired millions of women and girls across the country to get active. 1.6 million more women are expected to be active as a result of the campaign by 2028.

The Department regularly engages with the Department of Health and Social Care on a range of issues affecting business sectors. However, it would not be appropriate to disclose further details of internal Government policy discussions, as doing so could prejudice the effective development of Government policy.

‘Youth Matters’ is a ten-year cross Government Strategy to ensure every young person across the country has someone who cares, something to do and somewhere to go.
We are working closely with other Government departments to ensure the successful delivery and accountability of the National Youth Strategy, and the Department for Education is key to supporting the Strategy commitments made across schools and colleges. The Department for Education sits on the Young Futures Hubs Ministerial Board, a cross-government ministerial group established to govern work on the Young Futures Programme.

To ask His Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the report of the Children’s Commissioner into children’s mental health services in England; and what plans they have to implement the recommendation that children’s mental health must be addressed by the Department for Education and the Department of Health and Social Care working closely together.

The Government welcomes the Children’s Commissioner’s report, which highlights pressures on children and young people’s mental health services, including rising demand, long waits, and the need for better support for children with neurodevelopmental and special educational and disabilities needs. The findings of this report will play an important role in shaping our cross-Government Mental Health Strategy and the wider reforms we are delivering to improve outcomes and opportunities for children and young people.
We understand supporting mental health is a whole-Government challenge, as many of the foundations of good mental health, such as housing, employment, and social connection, sit beyond the National Health Service. The Mental Health Strategy will bring together action across health, education, local government, workplaces, and the voluntary sector into a joined-up approach to improve mental health and wellbeing. It will have a core focus on prevention, earlier intervention, and coordinated support so that children and young people receive the right help, at the right time, close to where they live and learn.
