The Government wants the AI sector and our creative industries to grow together in partnership and is encouraged to see agreements being reached between AI developers and press publishers.
As set out in its response to the AI White Paper, the Government believes there should be greater transparency from AI developers in relation to data inputs and the attribution of outputs. It is considering ways to achieve this and will engage closely with right holders and AI developers.

We will not comment on the detail of leaked reports or on commercially sensitive matters. HS2 is well underway delivering vital infrastructure investment to contribute to Britain’s economic growth with 27,000 people working on it already.
We do not intend to publish the review as this was internal advice to the Minister for HS2. We report on the programme's status to Parliament every six months and Ministers will provide their next update to Parliament shortly.

We remain very concerned by the Hong Kong authorities’ unprecedented rejection of a visa for senior British journalist Victor Mallet. In the absence of an explanation from the authorities we can only conclude that this move is politically motivated. We believe this undermines Hong Kong’s freedom of speech and freedom of the press, both guaranteed by the Joint Declaration, and the Basic Law, and increases the pressure on the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ framework. We urge the Hong Kong authorities to urgently reconsider this decision. Confidence in Hong Kong’s rights and freedoms is an essential component of its future success. We have raised this issue with the Hong Kong authorities.

The Foreign Secretary issued the following statement on 9 October 2018:

We shall continue to raise this issue with the Hong Kong authorities.
That this House is concerned about the continued lack of adequate protections for final salary or defined benefit pension schemes where companies are taken over; notes that when Pearson Group sold the Financial Times to Nikkei, workers were told that the terms of the pension scheme would be fair and equivalent under the new ownership; further notes that for some the changes introduced to the pension scheme will mean a shortfall amounting to hundreds of thousands of pounds over a 20-year retirement; calls on the new management to enter meaningful negotiations with representatives of the National Union of Journalists over alternative proposals; supports the right of workers at the Financial Times to take industrial action in the absence of any such negotiations; and further calls on the Government to commit to a thorough review of protection for the private pension arrangements of workers across the private sector.
