That this House condemns the preliminary decision by the Home Secretary that the case of the Bridgewater Four will not be referred to the Court of Appeal; expresses its concern at the Home Secretary's apparent disregard for the facts of the 100 new pieces of evidence that have been laid before him; condemns the Home Secretary's refusal to allow the courts to make a decision on the case; believes that since it has taken the Home Office over two years to reach even this preliminary decision, then Michael Hickey, Jim Robinson and Vincent Hickey, who have now spent seventeen years in prison, deserve at the very least to have their case heard by the professional judiciary; and calls on the Home Secretary to refer the case of the Bridgewater Four to the Court of Appeal immediately.
