Lords motion that the Commons message of 19 January 2004 be now considered and that a committee of six Lords be appointed to join with the Committee appointed by the Commons, to consider and report on the draft Disability Discrimination Bill presented to both Houses on 3 Decemebr 2003 (Cm 6058), with proposed membership and powers. Disability Discrimination Bill (Draft). Message brought from the Commons that they concur with this House that it is expedient that a Joint Committee be appointed to consider and report on the draft Disability Discrimination Bill presented to both Houses on 3 December 2003 and that the committee should report on the draft Bill by the end of April 2004 and that a Select Committee of six Members be appointed to join with the committee appointed by the Lords. Draft Disability Discrimination Bill. Ordered that Lords message of 17 December relating to Joint Committee on the draft Disability Discrimination Bill be now considered. That this House concurs with the Lords in their Resolution relating to the said Joint Committee and that the Committee should report by the end of April 2004. That, a Select Committee of 6 Members be appointed to join with a Committee to be appointed by the Lords to consider the draft Disability Discrimination Bill. That, the Committee shall have power (i) to send for persons, papers and records; (ii) to sit notwithstanding any adjournment of the House; (iii) to report from time to time ; (iv) to appoint specialist advisers; (v) to adjourn from place to place within the United Kingdom. That, Anne Begg, Roger Berry, Tom Clarke, Paul Goodman, Tom Levitt and Roger Williams be members of the Committee.
