To ask His Majesty's Government what funding or resources have been allocated to NHS trusts in England in the current financial year to support the procurement of aquablation equipment and the training of surgical staff to deliver the procedure.
Aquablation is one of a number of treatments available for 'bladder outlet obstruction', and it is for the medical professional in each case to decide whether that is an appropriate option to offer. There is no national work that mandates aquablation or assesses current levels of provision.

The Department has published a new cardiovascular disease modern service framework (CVD MSF), which prioritises ambitious, evidence-led, and clinically informed approaches to prevention, treatment, and care, supporting consistent and equitable access across the CVD pathway. This modern service framework can be found at the following link:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/cardiovascular-disease-modern-service-framework
We welcome the report of the Vascular and Venous Disease All-Party Parliamentary Group. The Department and NHS England have engaged widely with stakeholders, such as the Stroke Association and Heart UK, to co-produce the CVD MSF and ensure we consider the role of emerging innovations across the CVD pathway.
NHS England has not undertaken a specific national assessment of the availability or routine use of ankle-brachial index testing or Doppler ultrasound in primary care for patients presenting with symptoms suggestive of peripheral arterial disease.
The National Vascular Registry collects information relating to vascular procedures and patient outcomes to support service improvement and quality assurance within vascular services. However, it does not routinely report national data on diagnostic delay, misdiagnosis, or the number of healthcare contacts prior to diagnosis.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether the Cardiovascular Disease Modern Service Framework will include standards for the early diagnosis and referral of peripheral arterial disease in primary care, including the routine use of ankle-brachial index and Doppler testing for patients presenting with lower-limb pain.

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they will ensure that when conducting framework tenders for medical devices in England, NHS Supply Chain refrains from introducing maximum pricing thresholds and fully adopts the recently-launched value-based procurement national standard guidance.
To ask His Majesty's Government whether they will ensure that when conducting framework tenders for medical devices in England, NHS Supply Chain refrains from introducing maximum pricing thresholds and fully adopts the recently-launched value-based procurement national standard guidance.
The NHS Supply Chain (NHSSC) is fully committed to the adoption of value-based procurement (VBP) and has moved to a comply or explain model for future frameworks. NHSSC considers the application of pricing threshold approaches on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the specific market dynamics at play. NHSSC does not currently, and does not intend to, apply thresholds to all framework tenders. The Department is continuing to work with NHSSC on the application of VBP to future frameworks.

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, what support is available to MedTech SMEs to assist them with developing their exports.
The Department has integrated its support for businesses in a single, accessible place – the Business Growth Service – to help firms, including those in the MedTech sector, start, scale and succeed. From tailored market advice to free Business Academy training and our on-the-ground network around the world, we are making it easier for businesses to navigate global markets and seize opportunities.
UK Export Finance, the UK’s export credit agency, can also support businesses of all sizes across the UK. In January, UKEF announced the SME Exporter Fund which will give SMEs the confidence they need to invest, grow and expand into global markets.

The government is very aware of the cost-of-living pressures faced by households. The government has removed VAT from electricity bills to give households immediate breathing space. This is in addition to having removed £150 of costs off energy bills since April, plus the extension of the Warm Home Discount which reached 5.7million households last winter. The government recognises some households face additional specific challenges, such as medical needs.
The Government is also investing £15 billion through the Warm Homes Plan, the largest home-upgrade programme in British history, to improve homes, reduce energy costs and help lift one million families out of fuel poverty by 2030. As part of this, the Government is exploring how to enable referrals from the health sector to prescribe a warmer home for those who need it.
One of the biggest practical barriers to providing more targeted help to households is the availability of the right data. DESNZ is working closely with other Government Departments on the National Data Library household income ‘kickstarter’ project to test how public sector data can be better joined up to improve access to government programmes. This will pave the way for better targeted help, ensuring those who are struggling to pay their bills get the support they need.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what discussions she has had with NHS ambulance trusts on the potential merits of procuring Raizer chairs.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what discussions she has had with NHS ambulance trusts on the potential merits of procuring Raizer chairs.
The procurement of equipment by National Health Service ambulance trusts is an operational matter for individual trusts. Trusts are responsible for assessing and procuring the equipment that best meets the needs of their patients, workforce, and local operational requirements.
