To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if she will publish the (a) dates and (b) draft agendas of meetings of committees of NHS England and NHS Improvement scheduled for 2024.
NHS England is required under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 to publish the agenda for its board meetings in advance, and to hold board meetings in public.
NHS England’s board has delegated some of its duties and responsibilities to Board Committees which provide regular assurance and, by exception, escalate issues that merit full board discussion and decision. A list of Board Committees is available at the following link:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what discussions his Department has had with NHS England and NHS Improvement to help ensure equality of access to GPs across England.
The Department works with NHS England to monitor and improve access to general practice services and address regional variation. In 2016, we launched the Targeted Enhanced Recruitment Scheme, which has attracted hundreds of doctors to train in hard to recruit locations, including many rural areas, by providing a one-off financial incentive of £20,000. In 2021, there were 550 places available and through additional Government investment, there are 800 places available in 2022.
NHS England is continuing to provide structured support to practices working in the most challenging circumstances via the Accelerate Access Improvement Programme. This is prioritising support to practices delivering care in the areas of highest deprivation and with the greatest health needs.

We routinely work with system partners to assess the effectiveness of processes to support access to new medicines for National Health Service patients. The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and NHS England ensure there is an integrated approach to enable access to new medicines, including those licensed through Project Orbis. NICE commits to publishing draft recommendations on new medicines approximately at the time of licensing, with final guidance within three months of licensing wherever possible. NHS England and NICE have also agreed principles to allow potential interim access ahead of NICE’s guidance where timely guidance is not possible, which has supported early access for a number of medicines licensed through Project Orbis.
