To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether she had discussions with the Scottish Government before announcing the decision to agree to the English Whisky Guild application for a Geographical Indication for English Whisky.
Defra officials worked closely with counterparts from all the Devolved Governments of the UK, including the Scottish Government, to assess whether the application for registration of ‘English Whisky’ as a PGI met the requirements of the regulations. The assessment process concluded that the requirements of the regulations had been met.

It is unacceptable that patients across the United Kingdom continue to wait lengthy periods for treatment and it is imperative that the elective waiting list and ambulance response times are top priorities for all four nations.
While health is predominantly a devolved issue, the Department works collaboratively with the devolved governments wherever possible, to drive forward our objective of supporting people to lead more independent, healthier lives for longer. There are National Health Service England Working Groups across the four nations that meet regularly to discuss both elective care and urgent and emergency care.

I welcome the £14 million of funding released this month to create opportunities for young people in my constituency. The money will train them in jobs for construction in net zero sectors. To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what steps he is taking, in collaboration with the Scottish Government, to ensure continuity for energy efficiency businesses and workers in Scotland following the end of the Energy Company Obligation in December 2026.
The Government recognises that the end of ECO4 will present challenges for businesses and workers across the home upgrades supply chain, including in Scotland. Through the Warm Homes Plan, we have committed £15 billion for home upgrades and are supporting the workforce to access new opportunities in clean heat and energy efficiency.
We have also established the Warm Homes Plan Workforce Taskforce with trade unions and industry, to support the transition and build resilience in the workforce including assessing the impacts of ECO4 closure.
Energy efficiency is largely devolved, and Warm Homes Plan funding for England generates Barnett consequentials for the Scottish Government; it is for Scottish Ministers to allocate this funding to their own programmes. The Department continues to engage the Scottish Government on the transition.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, how many meetings his Department has held with the Scottish Government in the last 12 months on coordinating resilience planning for risks that span reserved and devolved responsibilities.
In reality, crises do not respect borders or boundaries. It is essential that resilience is a shared responsibility between individuals, communities, businesses, local, devolved and national government across the UK to ensure we can effectively respond to risks wherever they occur.
We work in close cooperation at both official and ministerial level on resilience, organising regular ‘four nations’ meetings on resilience. These aim to complement the everyday work teams across government do to collaborate with counterparts in the devolved governments on risk and resilience, most recently convening in June.
This group discusses how each government is developing its own strategies and frameworks to strengthen resilience and identify opportunities for greater collaboration.

The UK Government is firmly committed to empowering local leaders and communities across the whole of the United Kingdom.
I regularly meet with Scottish Government Ministers to discuss how our two governments can work together to drive economic growth and improve public services.
During these discussions, I have consistently championed the vital role that local government plays. The UK Government already works closely with Scottish local authorities through our joint delivery of City Region and Growth Deals, and the new Local Growth Fund, and we will continue to encourage the Scottish Government to ensure that local councils across Scotland have the appropriate powers and resources they need to deliver for their communities.

We continue to monitor waiting times in the Employment Tribunal through regular engagement with HM Courts and Tribunals Service and the judiciary. Published timeliness data is not currently available on a Scotland-only basis and does not measure the time between a claim being received and the hearing being listed, instead the time from claim receipt to disposal is recorded.
Workers should be able to enforce their employment rights in a timely manner, and we recognise that there remain significant challenges for the performance of the Employment Tribunal. We are continuing to monitor demand and are working with the judiciary and HM Courts and Tribunals Service to increase capacity and improve efficiency of the Employment Tribunal, including through judicial recruitment, deployment of Legal Officers, modern case-management systems and remote hearings where appropriate.
