Of course, these are matters for me. As regards this House, I would want to proceed on the basis of an understanding of consensus and I will be glad to discuss the question with colleagues, the shadow Leader of the House and others. In this House, we have already seen—I...

Earlier this year, my local former Scottish National party MSP, Mr Bill Walker, was convicted of 23 counts of domestic abuse and one charge of breaking a frying
pan over his stepdaughter’s head. He was sentenced to the maximum sentence available, which was only one year, so the Scottish Parliament...

A number of Scottish newspapers have revealed a shocking history of domestic violence and child beating by a nationalist MSP, Mr Bill Walker, stretching over 30 years. Mr Walker, like all who commit domestic violence acts, has arrogantly refused to take responsibility for his actions and will not resign his...

I understand the hon. Gentleman's concern. He will know that we have published a draft recall of MPs Bill. In fact, this morning the Parliamentary Secretary, Cabinet Office, my hon. Friend the Member for Forest of Dean (Mr Harper), gave evidence to the Political and Constitutional Reform Committee, which is...

That this House notes that the Scottish element of the rebranding of the Conservative Party has been celebrated by the election of Bill Walker as the new standard bearer for the Tories in Scotland; and looks forward to his continued involvement in the frontline of Scottish politics.

That this House regrets the remarks by the honourable Member for Angus East in Early Day Motion No. 170 (Conduct of the honourable Member for North Tayside and J. M. Barrie); notes that the honourable Member for North Tayside has been a frequent visitor to Angus District Council Headquarters, where he has had meetings with the Chief Executive and other officials about the problems of constituents; further notes that the letter from British Telecom of 3rd May 1994 to the honourable Member for North Tayside clearly states that the exhibition by Mr Caswell of paintings illustrating J. M. Barrie's story of Peter Pan in the Jubilee Room is to celebrate the 90th anniversary and in recognition of the Kirriemuir connection; regrets that no attempt was made by the honourable Member for Angus East to advise the honourable Member for North Tayside according to parliamentary convention of his interest; and cannot understand why the two attempts by the honourable Member of North Tayside to have the matter discussed were not acted upon, which probably accounts for the failure of British Telecom and the honourable Member for Angus East to advise the honourable Member for North Tayside of the address of Mr Caswell.

That this House notes that the honourable Member for North Tayside declined to act as a sponsor for the exhibition of the paintings given to Angus District Council in celebration of J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan and that he has never set foot over the threshold of Angus District Council Headquarters, County Buildings in Forfar; congratulates BT on his thoughtful gift of the paintings and in arranging an exhibition of these paintings in the Palace of Westminster; thanks the artist Edmund Caswell, both for his Peter Pan mural at The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London and for his illustrated paintings now gifted to Angus District Council and notes that Mr Caswell is resident within the constituency of the honourable Member for Angus East; and notes that British Telecom acted fairly in inviting both honourable Members representing the District of Angus to co-sponsor this Angus event in the House of Commons.

That this House wonders if the sensitivity of the honourable Member for North Tayside to the use of House of Commons stationery arises from the case immediately prior to the district council elections in 1988 in which the honourable Member had to pay up for misusing House of Commons stationery for blatant electioneering purposes; and expresses its sympathy to the honourable Member in his current pre-General Election panic.

That this House notes the continuing civil war in the Scottish Tory Party; agrees with Brian Meek, in the Glasgow Herald of 16th July, the Vice-President of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Association, that his Tory colleague, the honourable Member of Tayside North's comment that the economic power of Japan and the economic power of a united Germany will achieve today what Hitler and Tojo were unable to achieve through tanks is almost more offensive than the Ridley originals and should have earned him his P45 from his party post; further notes the honourable Member for Stirling's defence of the now former Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, even although he has remained noticeably loathe to defend the Scottish Secretary, during his numerous difficulties; calls on the Prime Minister to explain how the Vice Chairman of the Tories in Scotland can remain in office whilst voicing the same views as his former colleague; demands from the junior Scottish Office Minister, the sole Government Minister to publicly support the Right honourable Member for Cirencester and Tewkesbury's position, an explanation of whether he shares in full or in part the xenophobia he expressed; and calls for Scotland to be represented as an independent member state in the European Community by elected representatives with an internationalist outlook.
