Ms Walley: To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what information the Wheelchair Services Collaborative holds on waiting

Dr. Ladyman: Figures on waiting times for people requiring wheelchairs are not collected centrally. The information may be available
from the 151 national health service wheelchair services, which actually arrange for the provision of wheelchairs in England. 45
centres participated in the wheelchair services collaborative, which ran until June 2004. The services that participated were:

Tim Loughton: To ask the Secretary of State for Health pursuant to his Answer of 11 December 2002, Official Report, column 401W, on
wheelchair services, if he will make a statement on the wheelchair services collaborative programme. [89353]
Jacqui Smith: As outlined in the Department's press release of 27 November, forty five centres are now participating in the
wheelchair services collaborative, which spans eighteen months. The aim of the collaborative is to improve the overall experience
for users and carers, and to work towards minimising delays and maximising efficiency.
The services participating are shown in the table.

Tim Loughton: To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will define, in reference to the wheelchair services collaborative
programme, the phrase `all teach, all learn' in his Department's press release of 27 November "NHS and wheelchair users unite in
initiative to improve services". [86708]
Jacqui Smith: Across the national health service 45 services are taking part in the wheelchair service collaborative programme to
improve the service that they already provide. The collaborative will operate for approximately 18 months and it is hoped that the
services will share their learning and experience in order to make specific improvements.
Every service will have its part to play specifically in sharing good practice in particularly what works well for them and what
could be adopted by other services to improve their own. Similarly there will be ideas that they in turn will adopt--hence the
reference to everybody teaching and everybody learning.
