To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, what support is available to British entrepreneurs seeking to establish businesses in Africa and Asia.
The Department for Business and Trade supports UK businesses to export and grow in markets worldwide, including Africa and Asia. Through the Business Growth Service, entrepreneurs can access tailored market advice, free Business Academy training and UK Export Finance support. International Markets Advisers also provide market intelligence, sector insight and in-country support through the Export Support Service.
DBT helps businesses benefit from Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), including the UK-India FTA which will enter into force on 15 July, by delivering a dedicated utilisation programme to raise awareness and help firms understand key provisions and opportunities through practical and informative guides, and signposting to further support through business.gov.uk.

Overseas facilities receiving UK waste must be operated in accordance with standards that are broadly equivalent to those established in UK legislation.
Defra is committed to building a circular economy that enhances industry competition and capitalises on the UK’s potential in aluminium processing, whilst realising our environmental objectives. We recognise that export markets can complement domestic reprocessing to ensure more of our waste is recycled, but we are keen to ensure there is a level playing field for UK reprocessors.
This includes working with the UK regulators to ensure the proper enforcement of our rules and regulations.

The Government takes the control of waste exports and our international obligations very seriously. The export of aluminium scrap is subject to strict controls and exporters are required to ensure that the waste they ship is managed in an environmentally sound manner throughout shipment and recycling. The Government has not issued any specific proposals to amend existing waste regulations relating to aluminium scrap.

Globalised supply chains and the associated logistics costs remain a critical factor for the success of UK businesses and those on High Street.
The Supply Chain Centre will work in tandem with businesses to identify risks to critical supply chains and recommend actions to reduce their impact on business operations.
Businesses are also able to access a wide range of support offers by the Department, including the Business Growth Service which brings together a range of existing core services as well as new and improved elements of the business support offer. To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what steps his Department is taking to support countries affected by Typhoon Yagi.
Typhoon Yagi has had a major impact in many countries in South-East Asia. The UK Government has provided £1m to support the humanitarian response in northern Vietnam and £1.3m to help address the impact of severe flooding in Myanmar. The UK is also a major contributor to two global funds that have allocated funding. These are the UN's Central Emergency Response Fund that has released funds for the Myanmar response; and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies' Disaster Relief Emergency Fund that is assisting those most affected in Vietnam and Myanmar.

The Department for Business and Trade offers Export Support Service, online guidance via the GREAT.gov.uk platform, the Export Academy programme, UK Export Finance and a network of trade advisers across England, the nations and overseas, to support businesses to maximise their exports.The department also provides a compelling programme of support for food exporters to connect with buyers through tradeshows and missions; for example, the upcoming UK Pavilion at Thaifex-Anuga, Bangkok (28 May - 1 June).
