I refer the noble Lord to the Answer given by my hon. Friend the Minister for Veterans and People (Calvin Bailey) in the House of Commons on 7 September 2026 to Question 20863, copied below, which set out the Government’s position on this matter. As that answer explained, this was not a centrally coordinated Army review and there were no centrally held terms of reference, single Army-wide timetable, or centrally produced final outcome or report. Therefore, there are no plans to publish the letter from the then Deputy Chief of the General Staff to Corps and Regimental Colonels.
"The then Deputy Chief of the General Staff directed Corps and Regimental Associations to conduct their own reviews of their affiliations with private members’ clubs, including whether any associated clubs have rules, policies or practices that may not align with Army values of equality and respect.
This was not a centrally coordinated Army review. Rather, Corps and Regimental Associations were asked to consider their own arrangements, reflecting the fact that such affiliations are informal, privately funded and managed at Association level. Where concerns were identified, Associations were requested to consider engaging with the relevant club to advocate for change, or to disassociate where appropriate.
As the reviews were for individual Corps and Regimental Associations to undertake, there are no centrally held terms of reference, no single Army-wide timetable for completion, and no centrally produced final outcome or report to publish. Ministers were not asked to approve a central review, and there is no plan to make a statement to Parliament on this matter."

To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what discussions officials in her Department have had with the Football Association, the National League, and the Independent Football Regulator regarding the role of Abdulla Al-Humaidi during the ongoing sale of Ebbsfleet United FC.
Our thoughts are with Ebbsfleet United’s fans and the wider community, none of whom are responsible for the club’s current situation.
My officials are closely monitoring events which continue to move at pace – but it would be wrong to intervene further while the change of ownership is an ongoing matter for the National League, who are making regular statements. The National League South sits outside the remit of the Independent Football Regulator (IFR).
We would like to see stability brought back quickly.

To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what steps she is planning to take to ensure grassroot clubs are supported to provide all-year round access to facilities.
The Government is investing £400m in new and upgraded grassroots sport facilities, promoting health, wellbeing and community cohesion, while removing the barriers to physical activity for under-represented groups, such as women and girls, people with disabilities, and ethnic minority communities. In 2026/27, this includes £85 million through the Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Programme to build and upgrade pitches and facilities UK wide.
Projects funded through the Programme include artificial grass pitches. These pitches provide durable, safe, year-round playing surfaces which can sustain up to 80 hours of use per week, helping more people to access the benefits of physical activity. By comparison, a good-quality grass pitch can host just 4-6 hours usage a week, depending on weather and time of day.
We are also determined to ensure that access to quality sport and physical activity opportunities extends to covered facilities. Over £5 million will be invested in covered cricket and tennis facilities and £3 million in the construction of five covered cricket domes in 2026/27. While this initial new fund is focused on England, we will use learnings from the delivery of these facilities to inform future investment decisions.
We are keen to ensure that future grassroots sports facilities funding programmes are tailored to local demand, and will provide communities with year-round facilities where that demand exists. We are working with sporting bodies and local leaders to establish the type of facilities each community needs across the UK.

That this House celebrates the 145-year history of Penrith Swimming Club and its role in delivering affordable, quality, volunteer-led learn-to-swim provision for resident of Cumbria; notes the vital role played by the swim club in fundraising for the training pool at Penrith Leisure Centre; notes with dismay the attempts of Better, operated by Greenwich Leisure Limited, to stop the swim club from accessing the publicly owned facilities at the centre, thereby threatening to end the club's ability to teach young children Swim England's learn -to-swim programme up to level 7; further acknowledges local concerns that restricting the swim club's access could result in learners moving to operator-run sessions, with potential advantages for GLL and implications for the quality of provision; further notes that Penrith Swimming Club, as a competitive sports club, provides a pathway for young people who progress from learn-to swim into sport; and views these measures as risking undermining the development of competitive swimming in the community; and therefore calls on Westmoreland and Furness Council to consider all contractual options and halt any discussion of future contract with GLL until it has provided a written undertaking to Penrith Swim Club that it will withdraw this plan and guarantee continued access for the club.
