To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many incidents of kernicterus have been reported to NHS England in each NHS acute hospital trust in England in each of the last five years.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many incidents of kernicterus have been reported to NHS England in each NHS acute hospital trust in England in each of the last five years.
Because of the small numbers involved it is not possible to give the data for individual trusts without the risk of identifying individual cases. The table gives the number of finished consultant episodes (FCE) in England where the primary, or secondary diagnosis was Kernicterus.

| Note: A finished consultant episode (FCE) is a continuous period of admitted patient care under one consultant within one health care provider. FCEs are counted against the year in which they end. Figures do not represent the number of different patients, as a person may have more than one episode of care within the same stay in hospital or in different stays in the same year.
