To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what information his Department holds on the progress of consultations between AWE and Prospect.
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what information his Department holds on the progress of consultations between AWE and Prospect.
I am taking a keen interest in the negotiations and continue to urge dialogue, meaningful consultation and a constructive resolution between AWE and Prospect.
The Ministry of Defence keeps AWE’s processes under regular review to support the delivery of crucial defence outputs, both now and in the future.

Regular engagement on behalf of Secretary of State and Ministers occurs between Senior Civil Servants and Trade Unions, including Prospect, as a minimum twice a year to enable matters of importance to both Trade Unions and Defence to be addressed. Prospect attended a meeting in early December this year with Senior Civil Servants where bullying, harassment and discrimination were discussed in relation to the focussed matter of women working in Defence.

As Ministry of Defence (MOD) procurement contracts are overwhelmingly with primes and SMEs, direct responsibility for employment relations in the defence industrial sector typically sits with private employers. In respect of the MOD workforce, I recently held a ‘Town Hall’ meeting at DE&S in Abbeywood to discuss psychological safety and other matters relating to the workplace, and will continue to engage with the full spectrum of partners from industry, and within the Defence Enterprise.
To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the report by Prospect Inquiry into the future of self-employment, published in December 2020; and what plans they have to increase financial support for the self-employed.
To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the report by Prospect Inquiry into the future of self-employment, published in December 2020; and what plans they have to increase financial support for the self-employed.
The Government has provided a substantial package of support worth £280 billion in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Government will continue to look for ways to improve the package of support available and work closely with stakeholders to explore how it can best support different groups.
The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) is providing generous support to self-employed people affected by the pandemic and HMRC have received over £18.5bn of claims for the SEISS so far.
The third SEISS grant is open for applications. The Government will set out further details on the level of the fourth grant, to cover February to April 2021, in due course.
To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what discussions he has had with (a) management and (b) staff at Tate Galleries in (a) Liverpool, (b) London and (c) St Ives on the 2018 pay award and ballots of PCS and Prospect members for strike action.

Tate Group is an arm’s length body of the department, and as such has operational independence from government, including on matters of pay. Whilst I am therefore aware of discussions relating to the 2018 pay award and the ballots of PSC and Prospect members, neither I nor my officials are taking an active role in discussions with Tate management or staff on the matter.
