To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what steps she is taking with Capita to resolve the IT issue affecting the Natural England Voluntary Exit Scheme 2025.
The Department recognises the concerns of former employees who left under the Voluntary Exit Scheme and continue to experience difficulties accessing the pension scheme portal. Unfortunately, these issues are not specific to Natural England and are affecting Civil Service Pension Scheme members more widely. While resolution of the technical issues sits outside Defra’s direct control, the department is working closely with Capita to seek resolution as quickly as possible.

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, what assessment his Department has made of the potential impact of Jaguar Land Rover's job cuts on automotive (a) supply chain businesses and (b) logistics operations in (i) Mercia Park and (ii) the East Midlands.
Jaguar Land Rover has been clear that the proposed redundancies are focused primarily on non-manufacturing roles. Given this, we do not expect a significant direct impact on supply chain businesses.
The Government recognises the supply chain is facing wider issues. The Suppliers Readiness and Transformation Programme, backed by DRIVE35, delivered in partnership with the North East and West Midlands Metro Mayors has allocated up to £50m per region, supporting locally critical components and capabilities via targeted capital grants.
Decisions regarding logistics operations are a commercial matter for Jaguar Land Rover.

- BIST ministers and officials have been engaging closely with Jaguar Land Rover, trade unions, and local partners to support those affected through this process.
- The Department of Work and Pensions will support the company and its employees through its Rapid Response Service, which provides help with finding new work, training and wider employment support.
- In addition, West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker has announced a £500,000 support package for JLR workers who choose to take voluntary redundancy. This will help people find new jobs, connect them with employers, and provide skills and careers support where they need it.
That this House deeply regrets the announcement by high street bakery retailer Greggs that it plans to close four manufacturing sites across the UK with the loss of 740 jobs; notes that the plans involve closing manufacturing sites at Seaham, North Lakes, Kelso, and Enfield, with operations in Treforest and Manchester also seriously impacted; further notes that in the first half of 2026, the company saw its pre-tax profit increase by 19.7% to £76.0 million; joins with the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union in believing that this success would be impossible without the contribution of workers across the business, and regrets the impact which job losses would have on the individuals, families and local communities concerned; regrets that the company announced these plans further to any formal consultation process with the recognised unions; and therefore calls on the company to pause the implementation of the closures and get round the table with the unions to consider alternatives to site closures and compulsory redundancies.

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, what information her Department holds on the number of (a) voluntary and (b) compulsory staff exits from the Civil Service in 2025-26.
Departments that use the Civil Service Compensation (CSCS) Scheme, must obtain Cabinet Office approval for any schemes they intend to run..
Applications require a business case detailing the rationale, estimated exits by Voluntary Exit, Voluntary Redundancy, and Compulsory Redundancy, as well as mitigation plans and proposed tariff. The CO reviews applications to ensure the CSCS is operating in line with the scheme rules and frameworks and that proposed exit payments represent value for money to the taxpayer.
The Cabinet Office does not hold final exit totals by department, as actual exits may decrease after approval has been granted. Departmental exit numbers are published on GOV.UK as part of the annual Civil Service statistics: 2026, and within each individual annual report and accounts.

On 12 February, we accepted the NHS Pay Review Body’s recommendation on headline pay for Agenda for Change (AfC) staff in England, which resulted in a 3.3% consolidated pay uplift to all pay points. When making its recommendations to the Government on headline pay, the NHS Pay Review Body should give due consideration to recruitment and retention in line with its Terms of Reference.
The NHS Staff Council has been provided with a mandate to negotiate changes to the AfC’s pay structures in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, including in relation to Bands 2 to 4 and to pay for the lowest paid National Health Service staff. The NHS Staff Council is the national partnership body that brings together NHS employers and recognised trade unions to negotiate and agree the national terms and conditions for AfC staff.
These negotiations are ongoing, and any changes will be backdated to 1 April 2026. Funding arrangements will be confirmed in due course.
