As announced on 13 November, the Great British Energy – Nuclear (GBE-N) small modular reactor (SMR) project will be sited at Wylfa on Anglesey in North Wales, supporting around 3,000 good jobs at peak construction and thousands more across the supply chain.
Subject to final government approvals and contract signature, the project will deploy Rolls-Royce SMR technology. Ahead of contract signature, it is not possible to comment on specific SMR components or supply chain, though GBE-N's ambition is to deliver over 70% UK content across the SMR fleet.

The decommissioning of all offshore wind turbines, including blades, is a legal obligation for the owners and their plans must be approved by the Secretary of State. Full removal of all offshore renewable energy installations is the default position and installations should be designed and constructed to facilitate that.
For onshore wind turbines and blades, when a local planning authority grants planning permission this will typically include conditions for decommissioning, such as returning a site to its previous state.
In both cases, all waste should be disposed of in accordance with the waste hierarchy.

The Department does not routinely collect data on the source manufacturer of wind turbines installed in the UK. However, regular engagement with industry indicates that the majority of wind turbines, both onshore and offshore, are sourced from European manufacturers, such as Vestas or Siemens Gamesa.

The evidence behind the (a) capital and (b) operational cost assumptions for (i) Combined Cycle Gas Turbines and (ii) other conventional generation technologies has been published in a report prepared by Leigh Fisher and Jacobs (2016)[1]. Minor updates to Combined Cycle Gas Turbine efficiency have been made since, as a result of a published benchmarking exercise by Wood (2018)[2], which affects operational costs.
