The UK strongly disagrees with the sanctions imposed on the International Criminal Court. We continue to monitor their impact on the Court's ability to carry out its mandate, and on the individuals and organisations which support international justice and accountability. We remain in close contact with the Court, affected British nationals, relevant organisations and international partners. The Government continues to assess the implementation and practical implications of these measures, including what support may be appropriate for those affected.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what steps his Department is taking to ensure the International Criminal Court can continue to function effectively following the sanctions imposed on it by the United States of America.

Coordinated international pressure plays an important, positive role in constraining Iran's ability to finance its nuclear programme and other malign and de-stabilising activities, while supporting efforts to secure a sustainable diplomatic solution. We will continue to work alongside the US, and other partners, to encourage Iran to engage in diplomatic discussions in good faith.

Diego Garcia is a vital strategic military asset for the UK and US, which has protected our shared security for nearly 60 years.
Maintaining its long-term operation has been the driver of UK negotiations since 2022.
We need a diplomatic agreement with Mauritius - supported by the US - that protects UK national security and reflects the interests of all sides.
We continue to work closely on this, but I shall not provide a running commentary on talks.
This is about the long-term safety and security of the British people.

The UK-US Data Access Agreement (DAA) applies only to cross-border requests between the UK and the US. It enables law enforcement and security agencies to request data direct from telecommunications operators in the other party’s jurisdiction for the purposes of preventing, detecting, investigating and prosecuting serious crime.
The DAA contains targeting restrictions that prevent US authorities from targeting anyone located in the UK. The DAA does not govern requests made by US authorities to US-based providers.

As the police are operationally independent it is the responsibility of Chief Constables to ensure that any contracts for services and supplies meet both their legal and security requirements.
Moreover, the use of data by the police for policing purposes is largely governed by Part 3 of the Data Protection Act 2018 which sets out requirements for the use of processors, and what contractual terms must be included. Section 59(7) of the Act makes provision for the international transfer of personal data by a processor acting under the instruction of a controller.

The AI Security Institute (AISI) continues to collaborate closely with all industry partners, including Anthropic, and maintains long-standing arrangements to test models from major AI developers.
As I outlined in my speech on 12 October, the Government has been working closely with the US government and frontier labs to ensure the AI Security Institute continues to have access to the most powerful AI models before they are released.
AI scientists at the AI Security Institute continue to conduct rigorous evaluations of the latest generation of models to build a scientific understanding of the risks posed by the most advanced AI systems and develop technical mitigations against them, so that policy decisions are grounded in evidence.
Pre-release testing is a core part of the Institute's work to inform Government, but its remit extends well beyond this. Its researchers work on projects drawing on both pre-release and post-release testing across chemical and biological risks, human influence and loss of control. This research helps the UK and our partners make real-world improvements to AI security, for example by advancing the science of evaluations and AI monitorability.

As our closest defence and security partner, we engage and collaborate with the US regularly on a range of issues. The UK government has taken firm action against Russia's shadow fleet, including the interdiction of the MV Smyrtos earlier this year.
