Baroness Merron has met with Tommy’s regarding the Graded Model, and officials meet with the charity regularly. We are carefully assessing the findings of their recent report as part of a broader range of measures under consideration to improve miscarriage care for women and families.

That section of the Act gives Transport for London the power to provide transport services that start or finish in London. Kent County Council have not contacted me about this, but I know Transport for London has been talking to them about the provision of bus routes serving Darent Valley Hospital and Bluewater Shopping Centre, which provide important connectivity for my Honourable Friend’s constituents.

The Government recognises the importance of ensuring the privacy, dignity, and safety of all patients in National Health Service hospitals. No assessment has been made of the current number of Changing Places toilets in hospitals; however, national guidance is provided to the NHS on designing sanitary spaces in healthcare settings, including toilets, and designing facilities to meet the needs of disabled people.
Over this Spending Review period, we are backing local NHS organisations with £21 billion in operation capital funding, which they can allocate to their priorities, such as installing Changing Places toilets.
That this House recognises Changing Places Toilet Awareness Day 2026 which takes place on 19 July; further recognises the importance of Changing Places toilets for disabled people and their families across the United Kingdom; also recognises that they provide everyone, regardless of their access needs or disability or reliance on the assistance of carers or specialist equipment, with a toilet facility that they can use safely and with dignity; notes the considerable progress made in the provision of Changing Places toilets from the campaign’s launch in 2005, to the provision of the 600th Changing Places toilet in 2016 with over 2,600 Changing Places toilets registered in the UK today; acknowledges that Changing Places Toilets enable anyone to go to the shops, attend hospital appointments, enjoy community life, socialise and travel; further notes the map provided on the Changing Places website advising the location of Changing Places toilets across the UK; welcomes the funding from the Department for Transport which has provided a new Journey Planner feature within the map, with increased functionality for planning travel routes; supports work to develop future digital tools to allow users to easily find up-to-date facilities; highlights that the Changing Places Toilet campaign was initiated by the late Loretto Lambe, PAMIS, to highlight the accessibility struggles for public toilets; and thanks the staff and volunteers at Changing Places toilets for the work they do to ensure everyone has access to safe, comfortable and accessible toilet facilities.

That this House recognises and congratulates St Thomas More Catholic Church in Bexleyheath on its 90th anniversary; highlights that Father James Malone built a temporary church at Bostall Park in 1936 before a permanent church was built and formally opened at Christmas 1951; notes that the Church was consecrated in July 2000; further recognises the important impact that the church has had on the community across Bexleyheath; thanks the church community for their hard work; and wishes Father Innocent Ezeonyeasi and all the volunteers and congregation at St Thomas More Catholic Church all the best for the future.

To ask the hon. Member for Battersea, representing the Church Commissioners, what steps the Church of England is taking to ensure that churches are accessible for disabled people.
The Church of England is committed to improving accessibility, so that all who wish to attend churches, whether for worship or community activities, are able to do so. Parishes may apply to the parish accessibility fund for up to £50,000 or a small grant of up to £5,000 for project proposals to improve accessibility features, such as the installation of an accessible toilet, step-free access and production of large-print materials.

No central assessment has been made of Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) staffing and resources. We are working closely with NHS England to improve the availability of EPAUs, alongside other steps to improve access to miscarriage care, including improved mental health support through Maternal Mental Health Services and standardised bereavement care through the National Bereavement Care Pathway. As part of the renewed Women’s Health Strategy, we have committed to closely reviewing the findings presented in the Tommy’s graded model of care study, including the suggestions of improved access to care.

Licensed dog breeders in England cannot breed a dog if it can be reasonably expected that this would lead to welfare problems for the mother or puppies.
In the Animal Welfare Strategy, Defra committed to consult on reform to improve the welfare of breeding dogs and their offspring. It also committed to improve understanding of practices in cat breeding and consider any further steps which may improve welfare.
Defra supports organisations raising public awareness of health risks associated with brachycephalic animals, including Cats Protection, and the UK Brachycephalic Working Groups ‘stop and think’ campaign to prioritise health when purchasing dogs.
