Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Mike Hall (Labour), on Thursday, 15 June 1995, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 75 members in total.

FUNDING OF CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAUX

That this House notes with concern the Department of Trade and Industry's plans to freeze the grant in aid for the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux for a period of three years and to reduce the percentage of the grant spent on emoluments; further recognises that the citizens advice bureaux deal with over seven million enquiries per year with nearly 90 per cent. of the work being carried out by volunteers; and therefore calls upon Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the work of the citizens advice bureaux is properly funded to prevent job losses and cuts in services.
