Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Campbell of Pittenweem (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 20 February 1995, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 31 members in total.
CAMEROON AND THE HARARE COMMONWEALTH DECLARATION
That this House noting that, in order for the application of Cameroon to join the Commonwealth to be approved at the Auckland Heads of Government meeting in 1995, clear progress will have to be made in establishing a democratic system consistent with the Harare Commonwealth Declaration, regrets that there has been little such progress since the Limassol Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meeting; and urges the Cameroon Government to initiate a great debate on the consititutional changes needed to establish a stable democratic framework with the approval of all the people of Cameroon.
