Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Mark Fisher (Labour), on Monday, 28 November 1994, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 28 members in total.
DESIGN VISIONS COMPETITION
That this House welcomes the launch of Design Visions - a Parliament for the 21st Century, a competition by the Design Council to redesign the Houses of Parliament; believes that entrants to the competition should consider the lay-out of the chamber and of committee rooms, the arrangements for visitors, and the office facilities for honourable Members, their research and secretarial staff and for all who work there, a growing number of whom are women; believes this consideration of reform is comparable with changes to Parliament prescribed in the Jopling Report; and trusts the competition will inspire many varied and enterprising entries.
