Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Helen Jackson (Labour), on Tuesday, 20 February 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 69 members in total.
YORKSHIRE WATER PRICE INCREASE
That this House is dismayed that customers are being asked to pay a water rate increase which is twice the rate of inflation; believes that last year's problems of water distribution were caused by poor forward planning and management, not shortage of funds; and that, since the cost to the customer should reflect the service received, Yorkshire people are entitled to a rebate not an increase.
