APPLICATIONS FOR BRITISH CITIZENSHIP

That this House notes the ruling in the Appeal Court of 13th November that the Home Secretary had been wrong to deny British citizenship while refusing to give reasons for that denial; further notes that the judges responsible stressed that the decision rested upon an interpretation of the British Nationality Act 1948; and believes that all those whose application for British citizenship is rejected are entitled to be given a reason for that rejection.
