Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Alan Meale (Labour), on Wednesday, 30 October 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 61 members in total.

CONSERVATIVE PARTY AND ASIL NADIR

That this House calls upon the Conservative Party to uphold its repeated pledges to return in full to the administrators of Polly Peck all donations previously given to them by disgraced Turkish Cypriot fugitive Asil Nadir upon the production of independent evidence proving its payment; notes the findings of Touche Ross confirming the source of donations were from Nadir and Polly Peck Company funds; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to exercise its power to cause the return of these funds and immediately redouble its efforts to bring Asil Nadir back to Britain in order that he can be dealt with by the British courts.
