Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Simon Hughes (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 19 October 1998, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 52 members in total.
FREE EYE TESTS FOR PENSIONERS
That this House welcomes the Government's announcement of free eye tests for pensioners; recognises that free eye tests will lead to the earlier detection of eye problems and to earlier treatment; records its concern that many elderly people will put their eyes at risk of permanent damage by delaying having eye tests until tests are available free on 1st April 1999; and therefore calls on the Government to begin free eye tests for pensioners immediately.
