Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Ivor Caplin (Labour), on Tuesday, 31 March 1998, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 71 members in total.
BADGER BAITING
That this House expresses alarm at a report from Sussex Police that a badger's corpse was found with face and snare wounds in an Eastbourne skip on 29 March; notes that information has been received to suggest badger baiting is going on in the area; believes that snaring and using badgers for fighting with dogs is both illegal and cruel; and urges Sussex Police to bring those responsible to justice as soon as possible.
