ENQUIRY INTO THE LOSS OF THE M.V. DERBYSHIRE
That this House congratulates the Derbyshire Family Association for its persistence and hard work in campaigning to discover the cause of the loss of the MV 'Derbyshire' which extended to locating the wreck and welcomes the Deputy Prime Minister's announcement that a further inquiry is to be held following the report of the survey team which has now been published; further welcomes the Government's undertaking to listen to representations from interested parties in respect of what form the inquiry should take; welcomes the Government's commitment to ensuring the Derbyshire Family Association can be properly represented at the inquiry by ensuring financial help is given to them; and calls for the inquiry to allow the maximum possible examination of evidence from the wreck and of faults and design and construction in respect of the MV 'Derbyshire' and her sister ships in the Bridge Class.
