Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Roger Stott (Labour), on Wednesday, 23 July 1997, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 24 members in total.
VISIT OF AUSTRALIAN CRICKET TEAM TO THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT
That this House notes with regret that only one playing member of the Australian cricket team turned up to the annual lunch hosted by the All-Party Cricket Committee for the visiting test team; whilst wishing the Australian team well, believes there is no doubt that honourable Members will now be strengthened in their desire to see England regain the Ashes; and wishes Mike Atherton and his team every success.
