Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Randall of Uxbridge (Conservative), on Wednesday, 17 March 1999, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 6 members in total.
POSTAL ADDRESSES
That this House regrets the decision of Royal Mail not allow inclusion of Ickenham into the official postal address of residents who reside in the area of that name; further recognises that despite this area being a distinct geographical location the stated policy of not including appropriate geographical and community names leads to much confusion, distress and even financial loss when these addresses are part of a database sold on to third parties; and further calls on Royal Mail to include such relevant location names when requested by their customers.
