THE PUBLIC AND THE PALACE OF WESTMINSTER

That this House regrets the deplorable lack of facilities for members of the public visiting the Palace of Westminster; acknowledges that Parliament belongs principally to the people who elect their representatives to serve there; and calls upon the House authorities to bring forward plans to ensure that by the Millennium visitors do not freeze for lack of shelter when they queue for admission to their Parliament building, nor starve for lack of catering facilities when they are inside it, nor suffer discomfort or worse when they are unable to answer the call of nature.
